[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he state-of-the-art Tops International Arena, situated in Valkenswaard, Netherlands, was built with the equestrian community and sport top of mind. The venue is the brainchild and vision of Dutch Olympic showjumper Jan Tops. He competed in four consecutive Summer Olympic Games, starting in 1988. Tops initiated the Global Champions Tour in 2006, and it continues to be a highlight on the showjumping calendar. He is married to Australian showjumper Edwina Tops Alexander, who has recently hung up her riding boots to focus on raising a family. Needless to say, Tops is nothing short of an equestrian sportsman who understands the game and its need for top venues. Tops International Arena hosted its first season of showjumping last year.
