[dropcap]T[/dropcap]wo Dressage Shows were held at Pangolin Farm, Notwane over the weekend of 5-7 August, 2016 by kind permission of Sue Bookbinder.  Show One was on Friday and Saturday. Show Two was on Sunday. In both shows tests for Pony Riders, Junior Riders and Adult Riders were ridden.

The judge was Mr Justin O’Reilly who lives in Vereeniging, South Africa. Justin rode in England for many years to train as a dressage judge before he moved to South Africa in 1983. He started his training with Suzanne’s Riding School in Harrow Weald just outside London them moved to Marie Stokes and Carol Green at Tadworth, Surrey. He then  moved to John Lasetter who owned many Lipizzaner horses from the Spanish Riding School and Justin competed on Conversano Stornella (Stozy) whilst there from 1974 until 1977. Justin is a Provincial “A” Medium Level Judge and he has judged at dressage shows in South Africa almost every weekend for the last thirty-three years. Justin was accommodated at Sue’s home. Justin judged on Friday afternoon, all day Saturday and until early Sunday afternoon. Justin’s Scribe on Friday afternoon was Marlize Verreynne. On Saturday it was Angela Tilney and on Sunday it was Ingrid Williams.

The entry fee was BWP100.00 per class which included the Officials Levy and the Arena Levy. Late entries were an extra BWP25.00 per class. Stabling was BWP80.00 for the duration of the show. Sue, Pelonomi and Oliver prepared the arenas for the shows and Lunia provided catering throughout the weekend.

Thank you to all those riders  who made the effort to travel their horses to the show-grounds.

Well done to Maja Verreynne who rode 22 tests on six horses at the show.
