The six-year-old grey KWPN stallion, Sensationell. attracted an impressive 1,000,000 Euros at the Holger Hetzel Sporthorse Sales. The Zirocco Blue licensed stallion was referred to by the Holger Hetzel Sport Horses Sales Team as “a vision in white” and further described as having unlimited scope and a lot of heart. In his performance test, he achieved at least 8.0 in all jumping categories. The 2018 stallion had competed successfully up to the 1.35m level before his sale.
All three stallions in Sensationell’s pedigree are on the Top 100 WBFSH Sire Rankings for Showjumpers. His sire, Zirocco Blue VDL lies 9th, moving down from his 5th place of last year. His damsire, Cardento, is 7th, and his grand dam’s sire, Harley, is in the 38th position.
Zirocco Blue is fast proving himself to be one of the best of the best showjumping sires. Under Jur Vrieling, the grey stallion wowed at the sport’s top level. He was a member of the Gold Medal winning team at the European Championships, finishing 5th individually. The stallion also saw many victories at this level, including the World Cup of Oslo, the Grand Prix of Kopenhagen, Melsomvik and Geesteren, to name just a few.
