The twenty-year-old Hanoverian stallion Benetton Dream FRH was recently named Hannoveraner Stallion of the Year by the Hannoveraner Verband. The stallion has had much success both as a competitor and with his breeding performance.
Most famously, he sired DSP Belantis, who was fourth at the 2014 World Championships for young horses with an impressive 9.26; the following year, he was the silver medalist with 9.5.
Benneton was a superb competitor himself. He was crowned Bundeschampion in 2007 as a three-year-old under Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn. The stallion scored a 10 for his walk, 9.6 for his trot, canter and overall impression and a 9 for his ‘exterior’. The same year, he won the 30-day test with a dressage score of 9.3 and 8.52. As a five-year-old, he qualified for the German Championships on his first attempt and went directly to the finals. He qualified for the Bundeschampionate for six-year-olds in 2011. Between 2012 and 2013, Benetton Dream FRH had nine starts, producing seven wins and two-second places. Then, in 2014, he competed at the Grand Prix level seven times at the national level and walked away with only wins.
His sire, Brentano II, was the 2003 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year. Brentano stems from one of the most popular damlines in Hanoverian breeding, with many successful horses being closely related to the stallion.
Then, on Benetton’s damline, we see some of the best dressage stallions: Rubinstein (via damsire Rotspon), Donnerhall (via third sire Davignon I), and Weltmeyer.
HQ Pro would like to congratulate breeder Axel Windeler from Verden-Walle on his achievement with this special stallion.
