1.40m A2 at Biogen’s World Cup Qualifier

The 1.40m A2 Competition had 48 starters, and the calibre of rider and horse was exceptional, with many of the 1.50m riders bringing their top horses into the class.

The track was excellent and, for those staying on a consistent rhythm, rode really nicely. The course was approachable for most horses, but to win, you needed a horse that could turn, cover ground or, ideally, both.

Both strategies were effective over the track, with Jan Kleynhans on Epol Chilliwack taking every turn and Amelia Campbell-Horne on Geloven BB cantering the full distance but dropping strides into the final double, finishing just fractions of a second behind Jan.

The clear winner was Chatan Hendriks on the magnificent Biogen’s Greta G.

Congratulations to all riders! This class had us on the edge of our seats!
