[dropcap]A[/dropcap]n ungraded show was held at Pangolin Farm, Notwane, over the weekend of 24 to 26 July, 2015 and was kindly hosted by Sue Bookbinder.
The dressage and showjumping judge was Eileen Peinke who was flown down to Gaborone from Maun at Sue’s expense.
Fun weekend
As always at this friendly venue, everyone in the riding community was welcome to have fun over the weekend. Sue was extremely accommodating to all levels of riders and ponies and there were either dressage or showjumping classes, or both, to be entered and some fun classes for the children.
Good classes
The dressage started at 2pm on Friday afternoon and ran through until almost sunset. More dressage tests were ridden on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. The showjumping classes were held on Saturday morning.
The entry fees were BWP100.00 (R125) per class of which BWP70.00 (approx. R88) was the Official’s fee (which included the air ticket) and BWP30.00 (approx. R38) was the entry fee. The Show Secretary, Course Designer and Course Builder was Sue Bookbinder. The Dressage Scribe on Friday, Saturday and Sunday was Angela Tilney. She was helped by Belinda Irish on Friday afternoon. The Time Recorder and Scribe for the showjumping was Marlize Verreynne.
Champion results
Champions in the dressage results were determined by the average score of both tests ridden in the same grade. Champions in the showjumping results were determined by the final placing in the 2 jumping classes. Cross poles did not count towards the championships. All classes were run under DSA rules for dressage and SASJ rules for showjumping.
The organisers thanked all those who traveled with their horses to attend the show, including Kya Bergh, Maya Bergh, and Jaimie Williams from Crocodile Pools, Deborah Fourie from Mokolodi and Kim Reid from Rocky Stables.
