To check the temperature stand to the side of your horse\u2019s hindquarter and insert the thermometer into his rectum. Hold it in place until it has a reading, or beeps to indicate that it is finished measuring the temperature. It is advisable to have somebody hold your pony\u2019s head when you do this, as horse\u2019s can react negatively to having their temperature taken, especially the first few times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NOTE: Get a digital thermometer to keep with your grooming kit. You definitely don\u2019t want to get it mixed up with your thermometer from home!
