[dropcap]H[/dropcap]eld at Kyalami Equestrian Park from 24 March – 2 April 2018, the 10 day equestrian show is ready to wow audiences from far and wide. With free entrance, the public are encouraged to witness the finest dressage South Africa has to offer.
Often referred to as ‘the highest expression of horse training,’ dressage is the equestrian discipline whereby both horse and rider are expected to perform a series of predetermined movements. Through regular training the rider will aim to maximise the horses working potential by improving its athletic ability and willingness to perform. Some of the greatest paired performers will be present from the 24 March including Andrea Harrison, Adriaan Van Wyk, Patrick Brown and Elena Jankowitz.
All levels will be on offer at the Nissan Easter Festival from Preliminary to the Big Tour Class, the FEI Grand Prix. There are approximately 460 entries for the Dressage Section of the show which includes the Kyalami Park Club Dressage Amateur Series.
Elena Jankowitz of Kyalami Park Club Dressage is optimistic about the event:
“Come join us from the 24th to the 26th March for Dressage at the Nissan Easter Festival. Kyalami has included a new series known as the Amateur Series which is a wonderful opportunity for our Amateur/non-professional riders to compete against riders similar to themselves. There are lovely sponsors for this series including Ceri von Ludwig and Glenwood Stables. We also have Equestrian Diva sponsoring the Higher Grade Amateur series. We’ll have a gazebo up so encourage everyone to pop in and get a glass of bubbly. For the professional riders we have the normal classes running from Adult Prelim to the Small, Medium and Big tour classes. There is also Pony Rider, Children and Junior classes from Prelim to Advanced. Good luck to all the riders and thank you Nissan for sponsoring our beloved sport!”
The Nissan Kiddies area will be an action packed fun zone for kids over the Easter weekend of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Follow us online: Facebook: www.facebook.com /Nissan and Twitter: @NissanZA
