Hoof boots are usually worn by horses who are barefoot or have sensitive feet, or by horses who have to endure hard and irregular ground, such as endurance horses. The hoof boot provides protection to the entire hoof and especially supports and cushions the frog and sole.
Hoof boots come in a variety of sizes, and must be carefully measured and fitted to the horse prior to purchase. The boots will usually have straps that you can adjust for the perfect fit; however, some are manufactured to be pull-ons. These boots are ideal for horses who have recently transitioned to barefoot after being shod, or for horses who are turned out into hard-terrain paddocks.
