We caught up with Giorgia Scribante after she achieved a double clear in her first-ever Grand Prix! Here’s what she told us:
HQ: How did you feel before the class?
Giorgia: I was rather nervous the night before the Grand Prix, but my parents and riding friends gave me a pep talk before, which really helped me. The morning of the Grand Prix I was a bit worried about the wind, as Ulti is not a fan of the blowing flags. Whilst walking the course, I was very excited and went into the round feeling very grateful and prepared. I trust Grant Langley, my coach, fully and knew that when he told my Dad I must do the Grand Prix, I needed to give it a go! Ulti definitely had wings and gave me confidence beyond my expectations!
HQ: What does it mean to you to get a double clear round in your first ever Grand Prix (and over a tricky track!)?
Giorgia: Going through the finish line clear was a feeling I wish I could re-live! Many people know that my family and I have had a tough few weeks after losing our very special horse, Capital Crawford. So going clear filled me with lots of emotion as I know he was with Ulti and I throughout our round. I went into the round with no expectations to go clear, and WOW did it turn out very different! I was over the moon with how Ulti jumped and could not have asked for a better first 1.50m Grand Prix! I owe Ulti everything!!
HQ: What’s next this year with Ulti?
Giorgia: Ulti’s next big show will be SA Adult Champs in August. He will be having a more relaxed next few weeks in preparation for the next half of the year.
Thanks, Giorgia, and a HUGE congratulations from us on your incredible performance. Good luck for the rest of the show!
